Dr. Andrew S. Miller, O.D.
During Your Visit
When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. There are a few patient forms that will need to be completed, so we ask that you arrive 15 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment time. You may also download and print these forms from this website before your appointment. Please be sure to bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of any medications you take.
The Exam:
Our technician will begin your exam by checking your visual acuities (reading the eye chart), testing for color blindness and depth perception. Then, an auto-refraction will be done and in certain cases a visual field screening. After these tests, the elective Optomap retinal screening will be done. Certain patients may need to be dilated and the technician will administer these eye drops. Afterward, you will meet with Dr. Miller. He will do a refraction( the part of the exam that checks your vision for an updated prescription), an internal and external eye health check, and glaucoma test. If you elected to have the Optomap retinal screening he will go over your results at this time as well. This is also a great time to discuss and concerns you may have about your eye health or prescription. Patients with certain eye diseases and medical problems may also be administered additional testing. Contact lens patients will meet with our contact lens tech to discuss their lenses and patients wanting to order new eyeglasses will have the chance to browse our collection of frames and to get information on eyeglass lenses. (Please note: Not all the needs of our patients are the same. Your exam may differ from this description in order to fit your needs.)
Contact lens orders usually take 1-3 business days to arrive and eyeglasses that need to be sent out to a lab take 7-10 business days. Our in-office lab may also be able to complete your eyeglass order that same day. Specialty contact and eyeglass lenses may take additional time. Ask an associate for details.
Please remember that payment for services, contact lenses, and eyeglasses is required at the completion of your visit.
Here at Dr. Miller's office we strive to provide our patients with a comfortable, knowledgeable, and thorough exam experience and first class customer service. We pride ourselves on standing apart from the " doc-in-a-box" eyeglass chains and price-club optical shops.
We hope you enjoy your visit!
